Ford Repair: Heater control, unbearable heat, repair garage

Question
Hello,
I have a 1997 ford explorer. I've encountered a recent problem with the heater control not being able to adjust tempature. It remains stuck on very hot and makes long road trips unbearable.Heat temp on engine normal. Can you pleases help.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What it sounds like that needs to be replaced is the --blend door actuator motor-- It is located in the top of the evaporator case. I believe that is you remove the glove box, you can gain access to it. If not, you will have to bring it to a repair garage for replacement, being that the AC will need to be discharged and then recharged, as well as the heater core will have to be disonnected.
Hope this helps,
Erik
