Ford Repair: 2000 Windstar will not start, battery voltage, solenoid

Question
When I try to start the vehicle, I now only hear
a single click while listening to the engine, earlier in the day it cranked slowly.

The battery appears fine as I have headlights,
windshield wipers, etc.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Greg

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It sounds like your starter has "frozen". This is common with Fords. You might want to try tapping the end of the starter (not the solenoid on the starter) with a hammer, while having some one crank it over.
Also, check the battery voltage, should be 12.3v(ish) to 12.8v(ish), as well as making sure the connections are good clean and tight.
Hope this helps,
Erik
