Ford Repair: 2003 Explorer brake problem, ford explorer xlt, oem pads

Question
2003 Ford Explorer XLT, 4WD, ABS and Stability control, new tires and shock absorbers, 56000 mi. Brake is ineffective at high speeds, taking a lot longer than normal to stop and making panick stops impossible. At lower speeds, brakes behave normally and ABS activates as it should, but at highway speeds there is insuficient braking force. Dealer unable to find anything wrong. Problem started after dealer replaced brake pads, after several thousand miles noticed front pads were not wearing even on the discs and fixed that, but now are baffled that the problem persists. Pedal seems a bit mushy and dealer has drained the system, but pedal feel does not improve. Can you help diagnose?

Answer
Hi Antonio,
Have the rotors machined front and rear (replace any rotors under spec) and put "FORD OEM" pads (not Motorcraft pads) front and rear. Check your tires for wear and make sure the tire pressure is as door sticker recommends.
