my hubby has no idea what the problem is so I am asking you .. My van only has 88,654 miles on it. I got it in 1993 brand new. My question is. in the 12 years I had my van, when do you change the shocks? The van makes noises on the side, upfront on passenger side, sounds like the whole van will break in half if I go too fast. I cant go faster than 65 or it shakes so much it will just fall apart. HELP!

  There's no real timeline for shock replacement.  It all depends on driving habits, pavement codition in your area, etc.  I'd say normally 5-7 years would probably be about right.  As for the vibration at 65mph and over, that sounds more like an alignment issue...but bad shocks can also throw off your alignment.  Hope this helps.
