Hello,
My 1998 Eddie Bauer explorer has an automatic temp control. problem is unless it is on the auto setting and put at 60 degrees the heater cooks me out of the car. if it is on 60 degrees it freezes me out so I am constantly adjusting back and forth (thank God for the steering wheel controls) what controls the temp.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 It sounds like the blend door motor has gone south. This is located on the top of the evaporator case. This is nothing the public should fool with, because of the air bags that are near it and also the possibility of having to discharge the AC to remove the case.
I would suggest that you take it to the Ford dealer or a repair shop and have them take a look in to it.
