This is a 98 Expidition 5.4 Auto. The truck misses at low RPM, more when you step on it from a stop.OBD2 said that the #2 plug wire was bad and also the EGR valve.I replaced the plugs and wires, the EGR is in the mail. The wire tested good, and I still have a problem.  P.S. I cant believe that a faulty EGR could cause this, maybe a TPS ?  Please help.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What were the codes that you got from the OBD II system. Just because a fault code was stored, does NOT mean that the part is bad/out of range. There are certain tests that need to be performed before replacement of any part.
Thanks,
Erik       Erik, The computer was clear of codes before I ran the test.

I would check the basics, fuel pressure, ignition timing, air induction function, and also make sure that the spark plugs are good as well.    Erik, I have replaced the plugs, coil packs and air filter. I will have to find a pressure tester for the fuel system. Any other faults that you can think of if its not a fuel problem?    Thank You-Jed

Answer
Hello and thanks for the reply,
I would also check the EGR passage to make sure it's not blocked up with carbon build-up. Also, check the EGV Vac. supply------make sure the hose that goes to it is not kinked, cracked, and make sure it's attatched to the correct Vac. port.
Hope this helps,
Erik
