Ford Repair: dim lights car died, dim lights, volt meter

i was on my way to work when all my lights went dim. then the car died. i got it jumped. one minute latter everything went out and the car died again

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
If you can get a hold of a volt meter, check your charging system....... Sounds like the alternator died, and took the battery with it. With the car runnning, the voltage at the battery should be between 13v-14.5v at idle.
