Ford Repair: oil pan gasket replacement-92 Ford F150, pan gasket, ford f150

Question
I decided to fix my oil leak on my 1992 Ford F150(5.0 engine)because of extreme labor charges at a shop.(I'm pretty green at this stuff.)
Looking at it I noticed the exhaust pipe crosses at the tail end of the pan so I can't get the pan out. Do I just need to remove nuts at the pipe conection and slightly move it to get the pan out?
Hope my question doesn't sound to stupid and I hope you can help.

Thank's a lot,
Larry

Answer
Larry-

You'll actually have to remove (or at least lift and tilt) the engine to get to the oil pan properly because the engine brace (or K-member) is in the way..  This is where you get the insane labor charges.  Changing the pan is relatively easy...it's just time consuming and almost all of the charges come from labor.  If you've got access to an engine hoist you could probably get it done in a few hours.  Otherwise you might have to have a shop do it.  Hope this helps.
