Ford Repair: power steering pump, power steering pump, allexperts

Question
is there a way to got air out of the steering pump the vehicle is a 99 tarus

Answer
Hi Kevin,
Power steering systems are self-bleeding. All you need to do is turn the wheel back and forth until all the air is gone making sure fluid is at the right level. If you have one of the power steering systems with the large muffler in the pressure line, then it might take extra time to bleed all the air out. Just drive it a few days making sure fluid level stays OK. If that doesn't work, you need to take it to your mechanic and have him put a vacumn pump on it to get the air out. GOOD LUCK!
