I HAVE A 1985 FORD CROWN VIC WITH A 302 V8. I HAVE A OIL LEAK ABOUT 1QT A MOUNTH BUT EVERY WEEK I MAKE A ROUND TRIP OF 120 MILES AT 65MPH AND BURN 1 TO 2 QT'S. THE CAR IS IN GREAT SHAPE SO I DON'T WANT TO JUNK IT. THE LEAK IS JUST A DRIP UNTIL I GET ON THE HIGHWAY.

  THANK YOU

Hello,
Your probally burning more oil then leaking it. Sounds to me your engine is just a little tired. Also leaking oil could be coming from,,
1. oil pan
2. rear main seal
3. manifoild gasket
4. oil filter/ and oil plug
Thanks,, and good luck   IS IT POSSIBLE THE OIL SWITCH IS LEAKING IF SO WERE IS IT.ON THE MOTOR

Answer
The oil pressure sending unit, should be located on top of the engine,, or on the side of the heads of the motor. Its a little more than 1/2 inch long with a wire coming from the top of it. It could leak, but not alot, but it would probally burn off before the oil hit the ground.. Thanks
