Ford Repair: 79 f150 4x4 6cyc.to 302 engine swap, f150 4x4, salvage yard

i have a 79 f150 4x4 with a 300 6 cyc.i want to drop in a 302.what parts do i need to replace?    i have been told the engine stands from frame to engine are diff.if so what year stands do i need?also some say i need to replace the flywheel.my tuck has the 435 standard trans. and the 302 has an auto trans.is there any other mods.ineed to make.there is all kinds of info on swapping to a big block but very little on small block. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You will need to change the engine mounts (anywhere from 1975-1979 or 1980). If you are going to an auto matic tranny, you will need to change the flywheel. You will also need a torque converter, different bell housing and transmission linkage to convert from standard to auto. You can get most of these things from a local reputable salvage yard for about 3-4 hundred bucks. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
