Ford Repair: taurus fuel pump, chiltons, good shape

I have a 1995 Taurus station wagon. My husband says that the fuel pump is bad so rather than replace it I need to junk the car. Is this true? I would like to replace it I have another fuel pump I can put in I just need to Know how to do it. Please help.

First of all, you should have a chiltons manual to replace the pump. Second, if the vehicle is in good shape, you can still replace the pump. Normally you dont have to drop the fuel tank, but you may have to on this one.. Plus the fuel is under pressure. You should get someone that can help you on this.. Ty
