Will a transmission from a 1996 Ford Explorer 4X4 fit a 1991 Ford Ranger 4X4 with no problems and without haveing to buy more parts?

Answer
No, it will not work.  A 1996 Explorer transmission is electronic and requires a Powertrain Control Module to function.  Check with a local junk yard, they should be able to tell you which transmissions will fit in your vehicle.
