Ford Repair: 1995 Ford Escort, crash sensors, 1995 ford escort

Hi: My son recently purchased a 1995 Ford Escort LX. The car is in terrific shape and he is pleased except for one small detail. The airbags light on the panel lights up or flickers on occasion. Any suggestions or recommendations on what this might be and how to correct? Thanks!

The airbag light is flashing because there is a fault in the airbag system that requires attention.  I would suggest the vehicle would be diagnosed by a qualified professional and repaired.  Possible causes: crash sensors, module, airbags, or wiring.  On a vehicle of that age the most common problem would be corrosion at the crash sensors.
