Ford Repair: Electrical, fuel pressure gauge, ford bronco2

Question
I have a 88 ford Bronco2. while driving I lost all power (pushed down on the gas and no acceleration) after sitting for 15-20 min it cranked up, as if nothing happend. (while I was sitting I did try to start but it seemed as it may be flooded or not getting gas to the engine. what could be the prob... I have changed the gas filter and it did it again (stalled after driving for 30 min) I see also where someone has cut the holes to the heater core. 5sp

Answer
Sohpia,

Your problem is probably with the fuel pump itself overheating and quiting.  In order to test it you will have to use a fuel pressure gauge and measure fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the engine. All of this applies only if vehicle is fuel injected.
