Ford Repair: Window stuck, balance spring, spring mechanism

Question
I have a repair manual for my 1998 F-150, but it doesn't help. My passenger window is stuck in the up position. My repair manual says before removing the motor, first take the glass loose and move it up and down. But to take the glass loose, first have the window in the down position. I can't do that.

How do I get the motor out and is there a safety concern from some balance spring mechanism?

Answer
Jack:

If the window cannot be moved then you must remove motor with window in up position.  The suggestion for moving the window up and down is to eliminate the bind between motor regulator and glass.  I would just use caution while removing the motor.
