Ford Repair: brakes, ford explorer sport trac, ford explorer sport

Question
i have a 2003 ford explorer sport trac, with 16,211 miles on it. the right front  brake pad is worn to the point where it is grinding on the rotor, is this normal? and is there any different procedure to replacing the pads because its a four wheel anti-lock system?

Answer
Mr. Pough,

The wear on your right front break pad is not normal. It sounds like you have a half caliper hanging up on the roter. You should take your vehicle back to the dealership and let them correct the problem as it should still be under warranty. As for a special procedure for changing the brakes on your vehicle, there is none. The purpose of antiloc brakes is when you skid, it helps keep your vehicle straight. Hope that this helps and good luck.
