Ford Repair: mustang repair, air induction system, mustang repair

Question
two qestions: do you know what the secondary air injection system is and where it is located? also my front end is popping with take off, bumps and slow down. the front left tire is going bald on the outside tread. do you know what might be causing this? vehicle: 2000 V6 mustang. no repair history as of now.

Answer
If this engine has a secondary air induction system (a.k.a. Air Injection Reaction (AIR) System), the left exhaust manifold will have a tube running from the front of it, and the right will have a tube from the rear.  The metal tubes will change to rubber and join, running into an electronic pump.  I'm not sure where the pump is, but it is probably between the outer fender and frame rail near the front bumper on the right side.
As for the popping noise and tire wear, there is probably a suspension component (possible strut) that is worn or broken on the left front.

I hope this helps,
