Ford Repair: Wheel Sensor for F250 4WD, vehicle speed sensor, wheel speed

Question
I have the ABS light staying on, my speed odometer not working until I hit 25 mph (jumps up) and then it falls back down at 25 mph and my overdirve OFF light on my shifter blinks for a few minutes.  The dealer indicated that is probably is the wheel sensor.  I have purchased the part and will replace it.  Can you give me some direction as to the general location of this sensor so I know where to go first?

Thanks,

Jason

Answer
Jason:

More likely than a wheel speed sensor would be the rear axle speed sensor as its input is used to determine vehicle speed.  This is known as a vehicle speed sensor and can be found in the rear differential and is easily accessible.  If a front wheel speed sensor has failed it is found in the spindle and is also easily removed and replaced.
