Ford Repair: want start, compression check, acelerator

It was running sluggish and died. I tried to restart it but it would'nt start. I had a guy look at it and check out what it might be and he said its internal. Its getting fire to the plugs, he checked the injectors and they are firing. He did a compression check and most cylinders were around 70-80# each. When you hold the acelerator all they way to the floor it acts like it wants to start but does'nt. Is there anything else to check or do. It was running good up to the day it started to run sluggish and die.
