Ford Repair: Steering problems, edie bauer, power steering pump

I have a 1995 Ford, Edie Bauer SUV.  It steers like a vehicle that does not have power steering.
Over the last two years I have had the rack and pinion replaced, various steering belts, and a power steering pump. I told my mechanics that the
steering was not right after the rack and pinion was put in.  They told me it was because I used to drive a jeep. Anyway the steering is out again and I would like to know before I take it in again what else it could be.  If you can't answer or need more information please contact me thru E-mail or if you have another link that could help it would be greatly appreciated.

If it is not steering correctly again, the first thing I would check would be the fluid in the power steering pump as well the hoses for a leak. You should get at least 5-7 years on the front end system that you have. You do not say how long the new steering system was in place before it starting acting up again. Were the hoses routed correctly? If you could write back and explain the problem in greater detail than you have this time, I might be better able to help you.
