Ford Repair: light switch removal from 66 mustang, ground cable, harness connector

Question
I have removed the shaft from the light switch, but how does the bezel nut get removed in front of the dashboard?  don't want to break anything and I'm kinda stuck here.  tried turning nut from both the outside and inside.

thank you.

Answer
Mr. McMaster,

It sounds like you have jumped a step in getting to the point that you are now stuck at. To remove the headlight switch, first disconnect the battery ground cable, then working through the access hole in the underside of the instrument panel, press the release button using a small screwdriver and remove the switch knob and shaft. The remove the bezel nut and lift out the switch body frlom behind the instrument panel, disconnect the wiring harness connector and install the new switch using the reverse procedure. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
