Ford Repair: Water in Headlights, salvage yard, salvage yards

Question
I'm not sure if my car qualifies as a late model Ford (it's a 1993 Festiva L), but I'm hoping you can help anyway.  Water collects in my headlights, about an inch currently, and I keep needing to replace my bulbs.  I want to know if there is an easy solution to this problem.  Can I drill a hole or something to help them drain?  Thanks for your help!  -- Gretchen

Answer
Yes, you can drill a small hole near the lower corner to allow the water to drain.  Otherwise, I would look for used replacement headlight assemblies at a local salvage yard.  Most salvage yards can use a national network to track replacement part availability.

Good luck,

Dave
