Ford Repair: Capri resistor, mustangs unlimited, mustangsunlimited

I'm trying in vain to find one of these as my existing one, although still working, is crumbling away with corrosion. I've replaced/overhauled everything else in the heater box but don't want to put it all back in the car as it it's such a pia to remove if the resistor goes. Have you any idea if I can use a part from a modern car? Local Autoelectricians don't want to know and tell me to contact a Ford dealer, who don't supply them any more, and big electrical suppliers aren't interested in helping with such a small order and won't even consider it without telling them what specification it is.

I would recommend that you try Mustangs Unlimited (www.mustangsunlimited.com) or NPD (www.nationalpartsdepot.com). You could also try your local Auto Zone, as they used to carry them and if they don't can usually get you your part with in a day. Hope that this helps and good luck.
