Ford Repair: STARTING AND FUEL PROBLEM, fuel pressure regulator, fuel rail

Question
hELLO, WE HAVE A 1989 E250 7.5 MOTOR, IT IS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING WHEN COLD IF YOU GIVE A SHOT OF ETHER IT WILL TURN OVER AND START. FUEL PRESSURE IS 40LB BUT DROPS TO 20LB WHEN STARTING. WE HAVE CHANGED MODULE,RELAYS,COMPUTER, CHECKED WIRING AND PUT A FUEL PRESSURE TEST TO IT. iT SEEMS NOT TO BE GETTING FUEL TO THE INJECTORS ESPECIALY WHEN COLD.

Answer
Diane,

First off, I would get a set of noid lights and check for voltage going to all the fuel injectors (you can purchase these from Eastwood Company). Then have the injectors checked to see if they are clean or dirty. I would also check the fuel pressure regulator which is on your fuel rail. Hope that this helps. Good luck.
