Ford Repair: Head Gasket, blown head gasket, coolant loss

Question
Blown head gasket caused major overheating and coolant loss problem in 1997 Ford Mondeo 1988cc GLX. This was replaced and the head skimmed. Problem has returned within two weeks. Mechanic said that driver collecting car on my behalf drove it away like a racer at high revs/speed and claims this caused damage to new gasket. When I got the car back, it had only done 20 miles. Is it possible to damage new gasket this quickly or was garage's work not up to standard?

Answer
Mr. Mortimer,

It sounds like the garage work was not up to standard. It appears that your head is warped. It is not possible to damage the gasket by driving it at high rpm/speed. You need to find a reputable repair shop and have the head checked for warp. I am truely sorry that you experienced such treatment at the hands of a so-called professional. I wish you the best and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
