Ford Repair: wont start, inertia switch, vehicle computer

Question
I recently towed my camper not realizing my ford 1994 f-150 had leaked most of the oil out I only went 8 miles but it got hot . when i shut it off it wouldnt start. most people say its the control modulator. my question is where is it located and how difficult is it to replace. what does it look like?

Answer
Mr. Chandler,

Your control modulator is part of your vehicle computer. Your control modulator could only part of your problem. If you ran out all your oil, I need to know if the vehicle started knocking. It is possible that your inertia switch shut the vehicle off. Some vehicles are designed for this to happen when the engine gets hot. Hope that this helps and I apologize for the delay. If you need further help, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
