Ford Repair: Check Engine Light - Ford 2000 Explorer V8, ford explorer xlt, mass air flow sensor

Question
Check Engine Light is constantly on, after you start the engine. Hooked to the computer system, it detected Insufficient Air flow, I am not sure about the code. - Is this very hard to fix ? Can you tell me where exactly this part is located in the 2000 Ford Explorer XLT V8 5.0L engine.

Answer
Abraham,

It sounds like you may have a bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. You will find it located under the hood on the passenger side close to the front end of the vehicle. It is not hard to fix but it is not a cheap item to replace (cost approx $100 bucks). Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
