Ford Repair: Ford F150 4x4 Truck starting problem, ford f150 4x4, 4x4 truck

I have a 1996 F150 4x4 that the check engine light is lit and the diagnostics originally came up with ingition module.  We replaced that and it still came on and had trouble starting on the first try.  We also replaced the computer, but that did not help either.  The check engine light still points to those two things, but the truck still doesn't want to start on a regular basis.  It's hit or miss.  Any suggestions?

Whomever is doing your diagnostic work, are they doing it properly? Also were your ignition module and computer brand new or used? If you know the diagnostic code or can obtain the diagnostic code, please send it to me and I could better help you. Good luck,
