Ford Repair: 1990 E250 ford van fuel line connection to tank pump, auto zone, ford van

I've dropped the front fuel tank to replace the sender unit and my shop manual shows a clip connection from the braided metal fuel line to the internal fuel pump. I'm having a problem removing fuel pressure and fuel return lines at these clip connectors. Is there a secret as to how to seperate these fuel lines from the pump. I removed the holding clamps and tried pushing and pulling to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Len

You will need fuel line disconnets to remove the fuel lines from the clips. They are a special tool to remove pressurized lines. You can obtain them at any reputable auto parts store such as Auto Zone, Napa or Advanced Auto. Hope that this helps. Good luck.
