Question -
MY CAR LEAKS POWER STEERING FLUID.  ABOUT HOW MUCH WOULD THAT COST TO BE REPAIRED?  WHAT IS WRONG/WHY IS IT LEAKING?  WHAT CAN I DO?
Answer -
A. Washington,

The problem lies with either your pump or the hoses. Not knowing which, i can not tell you how much it will cost you. If it is your hydraulic hose it can be anywhere from 15-20 dollars per hose, a pump is around 20 dollar and these prices are if you are doing the labor your self. if you are having a mechanic do the work, you are looking at around 100 dollars. Sorry that I can not help you more and good luck.

Ken

I was told over the weekend that it may be the "racket steering rod"--I don't know if I got that right.  Do you think that is a possibility?

Answer
A. Washington,

I have never heard of a racket steering rod and to the best of my knowledge a racket steering rod does not exist. All that is in the power steering system is the pump and the hoses to and from the pump. Unless you are not explaining the problem to me correctly, I am still staying with my original answer. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
