Ford Repair: FORD EXPLORER COMPUTER BEEP, powertrain control module, computer beep

Question
1999 FORD EXPLORER EDDIE BAUR

I HAVE BEEN HEARING A "COMPUTER BEEP" WHILE DRIVING.  SOMETIMES WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN, SOMETIMES WHEN YOU SIGNAL A TURN, SOMETIMES AFTER YOU TURN THE ENGINE OFF.  HAD COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC RUN AND IT CHECKED GOOD.  ANY ADVICE?

Answer
DeWitt, the PCM (powertrain control module) doesn't have a chime to make noises...
however, your Eddie Bauer vehicle has all the bells and whistles, including several modules that do have warning sounds...
such as the driver information center that advises you if an oil change is due, or if the fuel is below 50 miles remaining, or if a lamp is out, a door is opened, etc.  I'd look closely at that display as you operate the brakes and turn signals and headlights... maybe a bulb is out and it detects that.
(the air bag monitor could beep, but it is only supposed to do that when a technician is clearing the codes)
Hope this helps...
