Ford Repair: synthetic oil, mile oil change, synthetic engine oil

Question
My daughter owns a ford escape; the last time she had her oil changed, the service people changed to a synthetic engine oil--Does she have to stay with a synthetic oil, or can she go back to the original oil without damaging the motor?Or does she have to continue using synthetic?

Answer
B-

You don't need to continue using synthetic oil if you don't want to, but I would recommend it.  Synthetic oil protects moving parts better and will usually allow more than the 3,000 mile oil change "recommendation".  I've seen synthetic run for around 5,000 miles come out better than regular oil that was run for 3,000 miles.  In short, you can switch back whenever you want, but I'd stick with the synthetic.
