Ford Repair: a/c problems, thunderbird turbo coupe, coat hanger

Question
i have an 87 thunderbird turbo coupe and i retro fitted an r-134 coolant kit to recharge my a/c and i put one can in after about 3 days of nice uninterrupted cold air i experienced a serious problem that is getting worse by the day. while driving i made a right turn and felt a very bad sensation in my foot and ankle, freezing cold liquid had poured out from under my dash by the gas peddle only my ankle and shoe. since then i have aquired a very large amount of liquid on my driver side floor and there is no sign of it stopping. there is no funny odor or sweet odor to the liquid smells like nothing, like water. not to sure if there is any discoloration. i can't keep my floor dry it even spills out while the car is parked. what is wrong with my car and what do i do to stop this liquid from destroying my floor boards?? any information concerning this problem will help, also i do not like to take my car into the shop unless it is something that i cannot fix and i do not come across that too often since my father used to work on cars some and i have had my fair share of time working on cars but i have never run across something of this nature thank you for your time and i hope to hear from you soon

Answer
Phillip, sounds like you've got a lot of condensation collecting in the evaporator box and no where for it to drain out.  Not a serious problem, and you should be able to find the drain hole and clean it out.
Look under the hood at the bottom of the A/C box - there should be a short nipple sticking through the firewall, and that is the drain hole that the humidity is supposed to drain out of... if a leaf has covered the hole, it can't drain, so the water level will rise inside the case until it finally sloshes out inside the car.  Run a pipe cleaner or a coat hanger inside the drain hole about an inch or so, and when you hit the obstruction, expect a flood of water to come out!  *Don't push inside too far - the evaporator core could be damaged if you poke too hard*
That drain hole may be located behind the accumulator, and it may have a 90 degree elbow attached.  But, it is there, somewhere along the lower edge of the A/C box.
Hope this helps...
