Ford Repair: Noise/squeal, shaft bearings, differential fluid

Question
On my 96 Explorer 4wd, a squeal sound between 10 to 25 mph. It even come when I am in neutral or engine turned off and vehicle is rolling. I checked and replaced all brake pads but no improvement. Pads are not locking the wheels when brakes are not applied. Also checked parking brake which did not show any abnormilities. Cable looked ok. Could this be differential, drive shaft,  bearings or u joints. Vehicle has 75K and I never changed differential fluid or greased u joints.

Answer
Hi Amjad,
This sound is usually the outer seals on the front axle shaft. It Seals the outer CV joint. You can bend the seal down with a screwdriver and put some grease on the seal. If that doesn't work you will need to have the seals replaced by your dealer.
