Ford Repair: MOTER, blown head gasket, valve seals

Question
I have a 1999 ford Explorer XL. After this winter it started burning white smoke. How can I correct this problem

Answer
Edward-

If the smoke is bright white and gets worse when the engine accelerates then it's a good sign that you're burning oil mixed with coolant.  About the only way this can happen is from a cracked head, cracked block, or blown head gasket.  A good way to check if this is the case would be to do an oil change and look for a milky, light brown substance.  That is oil mixed with coolant.  If you've got a blown gasket or cracked head or block, it's important you have it looked at immediately.  If the smoke is more of a grey-ish blue and not too thick it's probably just burning oil.  Possibilities are bad piston rings, valve seals, or a multitude of other things.  Hope this helps.
