Ford Repair: Fuel rail, schraeder valves, mustang gt

Question
I have a 2000 Mustang GT. I recently had the plugs changed, which involved removing the fuel rails. The mechanics did not replace the injectors properly, so I had a big gas leakage and had to redo it myself. I notice I get some hesitation if I blip the throttle, though not otherwise noticeable. I see there are valves that look like tire air valves on the rails. Are these possibly to bleed out air that may have gotten trapped when the injectors were removed and replaced? Is there some bleeding procedure I should do? I can't find anything about it in my manual. Thanks for your help.

You're absolutely right.  Those are Schraeder valves...just like you have on your tires and they're used to bleed air out of the fuel system as well as relieve pressure when you open the fuel system for any reason.  There's not a whole lot of special stuff needed to bleed them...just make sure you put a rag over the valve before loosening it so gas doesn't spray everywhere and make sure it's sufficiently tight afterwards.  Hope this helps.
