Ford Repair: 91 ford truck, fan clutch, ford f150

Yes I'm a girl? But I have to repair my truck and I don't mind. But I sometimes need help. the drive belt didn't break but was comming off a just a little at a time. in strips I replaced it but it still did not sound right. I checked the fan it was lose so I tryed to take the cluch thing off. the book said it should come right off. I can't get it to. I want to take it with me when I buy the new one. The man at the parts place said it should come right off. I took 4 bolts on the fan off the 4 bolts on the part that holds the belt on the water pump. please help! 91 ford f150 4.9 motor I think 6 cyc. Any help I'm a good parts changer but sometimes I don't know that right names for the parts any INFO  ( yes it has air)

The reason the clutch would not come off is because you have what is called a Threaded Fan Clutch and to remove it you need a special tool called a fan clutch pulley holding tool and a fan clutch nut wrench or the equivalent to hold the pulley while turning the large clutch  nut counterclockwise to remove the clutch. Auto Zone has a free tool loaning program. You can check into that to help cut your repair expense. It does not matter to me that you are a girl.
