Ford Repair: Ford Windstar 95 A/C problem, ford windstar, txv

Question
Dear Steve,

My 95 Windstar LX(3.8V6)'s A/C worked fine last year when I bought it. Now, I find the A/C blowing warm air. So I bought the $35 r134a kit at Wal-mart (the brand is Inter-dynamics) and tried to top-off refrigerant. However, I saw the guage telling that there was enough pressure in the compressor. So I let the already-existing refrigerant leak out by pushing the knob with a driver, and refilled it with the new refrigerant. Unfortunately, still not working!

Thus, my question is the following:

If my car's A/C system has enough refrigerant, what else should I look at? (In other words, is it possible that the A/C blows a warm air when it has enough refrigerant in the compressor? The fan works fine, of course.)

Sincerely yours,

Bumshik from Indianapolis

Answer
Bumshik-

Most likely it's a problem in the condenser or the TXV (thermostatic expansion valve).  If it's got good pressure and refrigerant then I'd take it to a shop that does a lot of A/C work to have it diagnosed.  HVAC was never my specialty so that's about the extent of my knowledge. Hope this helps.
