Ford Repair: rear end, ford f 150, dana 44

Question
I know it says you work on older ford models, but I was just wondering if you could tell me what size rear end I have if I gave you my ID tag information? I have a Ford F-150 year is 2000. And it's four wheel drive. The ID tag say S826D and on the bottom line it says 3-31 88 9MO4. Thanks anyways if you are m=not able to answer that question. Have a great day.

Answer
Corina-

Unfortunately I don't have any access to decoders for F-150 axle tags.  I can, however, tell you that most 4x4 F-150s use what are known as Dana rear ends...usually a Dana 44.  On occassion they will use a 10.25" or something like that, but it varies between model (heavy duty, crew cab, ext. cab, etc.), engine size, transmission, and so on.  But if I had to guess I'd say it was probably a Dana 44
