Ford Repair: Model T Ford (1923), experimental aircraft association, model t ford

Question
Dear Sir,

My father-in-law has a 1923 Model T Ford that needs repair.  He lives in the Adirondacks near the Old Forge, NY area.  Is there someone that you could recommend to do repair in his area?

Thanks so much!
Susan

Answer
Susan-

I wish I could help, but I live in Kansas and have virtually no knowledge of shops in NY.  Depending on what needs to be repaired, you can pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News (it's a classified ads magazine for classic cars) and check out the Ford section to see if there are any hsops in the area.  If the engine needs to be repaired, you might contact your local EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) for shops.  I know, that sounds strange, but most of those guys use Model A or Model T engines in their prop planes and just about every area of the U.S. has a chapter.  My father was president of the chapter around here and had a lot of help rebuilding his Model T motor.  Just a thought.  Hope this helps.
