Ford Repair: re-install distributor taurus 3.8L, taurus 3, ford taurus

Question
I'm having a problem finding TDC. Pulled #1 plug and feel air pressure when turning motor by hand, but pointer and "0" on damper not close. Also, I forgot to mark shaft to engine. Sorry, This is a 1990 Ford Taurus Wagon LX V6 3.8L, please help. Go ahead and make fun of me if you want, I deserve it. Thank You.

take a screwdriver with the end taped to protect the piston.watch the screwdriver come up as it starts to go down your at tdc.dont go by the pointer on the damper.the distributer should go in.just a little trick i learned over the years.hope this helps.
