Ford Repair: problems with my ford tempo, ford tempo, ball joints

Question
I'm not sure if you can help me out but I have a 1989 ford tempo and when i get up around 45-55 mph it starts shaking. I got the ball joints changed and it still shakes. I hope you can help me out and send me in the right direction.
thank you very much

Answer
Josh-

My first guess would be alignment...mostly due to your description of the speeds it occurs at.  If the vibration goes away after about 55-60mph then I'd just take it in for an alignment.  If it continues from that point and up, then you're looking at an unbalanced drivetrain component.  It'd be nearly impossible to pin down without looking at the car firsthand, but any compitent shop could tell you.  I'd make sure it's not the alignment before moving on to more involved (and expensive) repairs.  Hope this helps.
