Ford Repair: lifters, weight oil, changing oil

my truck is tapping and people are telling me to put a heavier weight oil and CD2 to stop the lifters from sticking. what can i do? is it possible to get a owners manual for a 93 ford explorer xlt, 6 cyl., 3.0?

  You could probably snag an owners manual off something like Ebay.  If you don't get one with the car your only recourse is really just to buy one secondhand.  As for your lifters, changing oil weights won't help a collapsed lifter.  If it's collapsed or stuck then it'll need to be replaced.  This isn't the easiest job in the world, but it's far from impossible.  Hope this helps.
