Ford Repair: Ford Tarus 2002 SES, 2002 ford tarus, cv joints

Question
Greetings!

I have a MAJOR headache! I have a 2002
Ford Tarus SES with 35,000 miles. (v6)
Problem is that there is a vibration in the
front end.  I have had NEW tires placed
on this car (vibration was there with the OLD
TIRES!), had them REBALANCE about 3 times
(including rotating), and the vibration stays in the exact
same spot! It makes no difference whatsoever where the
tires are moved to on the car, the vibration in the
front stays.  The steering wheel shakes lightly
at 40-50, and it gets BAD at 60-65.  Cannot be the
balancing of the tires, again because the shaking stays
in the EXACT same plave no matter where the tires
are rotated to on the car. As far as work done to this
car,  I had the front struts were replaced, and the drivers side
cv joints/shaft has been replaced. ALL WARRANTY
work.  This car has been into the dealer at LEAST 4 times for
the exact same problem, and they cannot
seem to get the problem fixed.  Needless to say,
I am VERY pissed off, and VERY disappointed
with a new car that has LESS than 36,000k
miles.  Sincerely considering contacting a lawyer
and trying to return it to dealer under the NY Lemon Law.

I have had MORE PROBLEMS with this car,
in 20k miles, than I have had with ANY CAR I have
ever owned that had over 60k miles! Worst
car I have EVER owned, and will NEVER buy another
Ford, BACK TO HONDA's!  Last honda got
200k miles, and I had no problems with it whatsoever!

Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?
The shaking is getting to me, and it makes taking a long
trip almost unbearable!  It is getting to the point now
that I HATE to drive the dang car!

Thanks

Answer
Brian-

First off...let me say that you can't swear off Ford based on a Taurus.  They've got major problems...some Ford knows about...some that just pop up but they've got to be the most problem-laden Ford in production.  As for your question...that sounds a lot like an alignment problem.  Especially since it only occurs at certain speeds.  I'd have the Ford dealership re-align it and, if it's still occuring then they need to take a look at the front suspension because something's out of whack.  Hope this helps.
