Ford Repair: Engine Swap, ford f150, interchangeability

Question
I have a 97 Ford F150 with a 4.6L Windsor. It has 171000 miles and is in need of a swap. I found a New 4.6L on ebay. Seller states it is a 2000 or newer. How can I determine if it will bolt up right? Are there cross reference books? How could I find out?

Answer
Mike-

I don't know of any reference sources as far as 4.6L interchangeability, but the block itself hasn't changed so the motor itself should bolt right up.  Now...the motor will be slightly different since Ford revised the intake and heads in '99 (dubbing the new motors "PI" motors) so there may be some wiring differences...but even that I doubt.  it should just be a straight bolt in.  Hope this helps.
