Ford Repair: Rebuild brake proportioning valve, lifetime warr, brake proportioning valve

Question
I am trying to keep my 1966 Mustang GT stock after replacing the brake system and want to rebuild the brake proportioning valve. The only item that is giving me a problem is the disc brake proportioning valve. I have a seal rebuild kit but when reassembling it found that the small seal's inner diameter is larger than the piston's outer diameter. The seal fits fine to the bore of the valve body. Should the seal fit tight to the piston?? I should have paid closer attention to the old parts before I took it apart.

Answer
Hi Denis,
First, double check to make sure that they gave you the right kit. You will be able to tell right away after you install it and press on the brakes. If it doesn't work, install a reman valve that should have a lifetime warr. The seals should be larger!
