Ford Repair: 1966 Mustang 289 V8, rubber mallet, mustang 289

Question
Two quick questions
1-1 am rebuilding the 2100 carb and I am supposed to put the carb in carburetor cleaning solution for 24 hours. Where can I get this solution or what alterative solution do you recommend instead to soak the carburetor in?
2How can I remove the valve covers on this car without damaging the covers themselves?
Do you have any helpful hints? They're stuck on strongly!
Thanking you in advance-Tom

Answer
TOM

you can buy the carb solution at auto zone or advance auto, but its 10 dollars a gallon. you can use kerosene, just spray it with a can of carb cleaner after it has soaked. carb cleaner is cheap, a can is 88 cents at walmart. after you get the bolts off the valve covers give them a tap with a RUBBER mallet, and they will come right off. hope this helps.
