Ford Repair: 1972 ford 302 cid engine, leaded gasoline, ford 302

Question
I have a 1972 ford 302 cid engine that i recently switched heads from a leaded gasoline head to unleaded gasoline heads and cannot get the engine to run smoothly or even idle smoothly and lacks power. I do not know the year of the
unleaded heads. My question is, is the older 302 block compatible with the newer heads or do some modifications need to be made? Thanking you in advance.

Answer
Polo-

The heads themselves should be virtually the same, with the exception of some minor changes that don't effect compatibility.  My gues is that you've got a valvetrain issue.  The timing may be off a bit or the rockers may need to be adjusted.  Otherwise the heads should be a straight fit.  Hope this helps.
