Honda Repair: overheating, coolant temperature sensor, blown head gasket

Question
hi I have 94 Honda civic ex
it's over heating what can it be ?? pleeeease help me !

Answer
There is a lot of things it can be.
1) You might be low on coolant. Just check the coolant level in the radiator and the reservoir. If it is low then fill it up.
2) Your cooling fans might not be working. If you don't hear them come on when it's hot then they aren't working. One of the most likely causes of the fans not working is the cooling fan relay. It could also be the coolant temperature sensor or the computer.
3) You might have a bad thermostat. This is a part that opens and closes to let coolant flow or not flow. If it is bad it can cause overheating.
4) If your head gasket is bad it will cause overheating. This is the worst case and will cost a lot to fix. Hopefully one of the other things on the list is causing it and not a blown head gasket.
